Every possible vantage point was occupied as the Motueka Heat of the 2014 Tasman Skatepark Tour unleashed an astonishing display of extreme sport trickery.

Jake King and Reggie MacDonald again showed their class, both collectingfirst place in the senior and junior skate sections. The open skate section was hotly contested, thanks to a van load of Blenheim rippers who took to the park with some Marlborough moves. Tyler Auty narrowly edged out fellow Blenheian Sonny Puru to take out the open skate category. Colourful local Ben Smart grabbed third.

Once again a familiar result unfolded for the scooter comps, with Mita Timpson, Tuts Kinita and Kelsyn MacDonald winning their respective sections.  Mita in particular had the crowd in a frenzy with a couple of attempts at a front flip which were on this occasion unsuccessful, yet extremely entertaining.

Local Motueka riders reigned supreme in the bmx sections with a monopoly over placings in both the junior and open categories. Young Korbyn Williams took out the junior section, with Ryan Dando victorious in the open section. William Goodman won the senior section.

Two stops to go, and the leader board is still quite congested at the top with at least a dozen riders still in contention for the supreme prize.
